Using the anchoring vignette method for the measurement of students' dishonest behavior at schools

Abstract

The authors have studied students' heterogeneity in reporting behavior and its impact on the analysis of students' self-reports about their dishonest behavior, using the anchoring vignette method. The sample consists of 265 randomly-chosen, seventh-grade students from Prague 6.

The results indicate a substantial heterogeneity in reporting behavior among students which distorted the analysis of the relationship between selected students' background characteristics and their dishonest behavior.
