Abstract

The essay sums up distinctive ways propaganda has been approached from the academic point of view through the 20th century. The article covers and analyses different ways of defyining and interpreting propaganda with the focus on the distinctions between propaganda and ideology, persuasion, and performativity.

It pays attention to the occasions of propaganda's impact inside of the field of cultural - and particularly film - production.
