Abstract

The study compares the origins of the aesthetics of the novel in the period of the peak of modernism, ie from 1910 until the 1930s. At its center, there are the aesthetic concepts of James Joyce, Herman Broch, Robert Musil and their concepts of literature in the context of contemporary trends in modern painting and modern music.
