Abstract
The paper presents the evolution of views on Earth motion around the Sun, orbital characteristics, the evidence and the consequences of this motion. The essence of geocentric heliocentric models is described in detail.
Special attention is paid to explaining Kepler's laws. The article repairs misconceptions that apper in some Czech geographic textbooks.
