Emotion recognition test- Report on the test development

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2019

Abstract

This article aims to inform about the process of creating a performance test measuring the ability to recognize emotions. Basic emotions- anger, contempt, surprise, joy, sadness, fear and disgust were selected according to Ekman's concept (Ekman, 1993).Photographs of these emotions shown by trained participants in both full and implied (subtle) form were items of the pilot version of the test.

After item analysis, the final form of the test was constructed, tested and psychometrically analyzed on a new sample.
