The presented study compares the communication frequency differences between men. Women, from men to women and from women to men in workplace teams.
For this study, the sociomapping tool was used to measure the current frequency of communication with their teammates on a 5- point likert scale. Two ways of measuring the frequency mean were used: 1. the arithmetic mean of the original ratings on the likert scale, 2. the arithmetic mean of the original data transformed to ordinal data and normalised with the number of team members.
In total, 135 sociomapping matrices (teams) with 2585 names were included in the study. The results showed that there is no statistically significant difference (p= 0.75) between the current frequency of communication based on the likert scale rating (1) and based on the transformed ordinal data (2) this result was even stronger (p= 0.98).
There was no statistically significant difference (p= 0.55) between the frequency of communication from men to women and from women to men based on the likert scale rating (1), nor was the difference significant based on the transformed ordinal data (2) (p= 0.82).
