The presentation introduces two diagnostic tools based on Ekmans's basic emotions theory. They are Emotions recognition test and personality strengths theory- 4 Elements Personality inventory created in The Czech Republic.

The first tool was created to measure the ability to recognize and to make basic emotions. It contains 44 items- photos of emotional expressions.

The psychometric characteristics were measured by Cronbach alpha = .77, the item difficulty varies from .52 for the emotion of the fear to .92 for the emotion of the joy. This test was correlated with BarOn Emotional Quotient-Inventory factors of overall emotional intelligence (R= .37, p<.05), intrapersonal emotional intelligence (R= .38, p< .05), and interpersonal emotional intelligence (R= .59, p< .001).

The second tool is the 4Elements Personality Inventory, divides people into four personality types according to the 4 elements metaphor (fire, water, air, earth) which makes the result more intuitive and simple (easy readable nebo understandable). Psychometric analysis repeatedly showed correlation with the golden standard (NEO PI-R) R= .53, Cronbach alpha= .83.

The 4 elements description of personality is based on personality strengths: fire positively correlates with extraversion (R= .67, p<.001) and negatively with neuroticism (R= -.65, p<.001), water positively correlates with neuroticism (R= .73, p<.001) and agreeableness (R= .30, p<.05) and negatively with extraversion (R= -.48, p<.001), air positively correlates with openness to experience (R= .34, p<.05) and extraversion (R= .62, p<.001) and negatively with the neuroticism (R= -.34, p<.05) and conscientiousness (R= -.39, p<.05), earth correlates positively with conscientiousness (R= .73, p<.001) and negatively with extraversion (R= -.30, p<.05).
