Abstract

The lexicon entry describes the life and work of German writer of 19th century - Wilhelm Hauff. This author is an important representative of German romanticism, his literary work has often had common features with fantasy; is one first writers devoted to the genre of the author's fairy tale.

Wilhelm Hauff's fairy-tale almanacs (Die Karawane; Der Scheik von Alessandria und seine Sklaven; Das Witshaus im Spessart) are still the masterpieces of world literature and read by both children and adult readers.
