Abstract
The chapter in the collective monograph, in which the reception of Václav Havel's literary works in Latvia is analysed. The attention is devoted to his plays - six of them were translated into Latvian, several essays and Letters to Olga were published in Latvian too.
The reception of the Vaclav Havel's works was always connected with the current political and social situation in Latvia.
