Catheterization of central veins is one of the possible ways how to provide a vascular access for haemodialysis. Catheterization is an invasive intervention and complications can occur during the procedure or any time after it.
This article aims at less common complications related to implantation and usage of central venous catheters at our center. The listed case reports highlight the risks of manipulation with central venous catheters and importance of adequate maintenance of this vascular access by educated nursing stuff.
