Abstract
Vaccination in HIV - positive people is an important and increasingly discussed part of the care of patients with this infection. This group of patients is at higher risk of infectious diseases, many of which are preventable and may have a more severe course compared to healthy population.
There is also an increased risk of inadequate immune response and post-vaccination side-effects after vaccination. Each of these patients needs to be approached individually for vaccination, and the actual CD4+T lymphocyte count and viral load should be carefully evaluated prior to initiating vaccination.
The better the immune profile of the patient, the better vaccine effect can be expected. In severe immunosuppression, vaccination is often contraindicated .After initiation of antiretroviral therapy (ART) and improvement of the immune profile, a better effect of the vaccine can be expected.
The vyccination of HIV-positive patients should be considered immediately after diagnosis and should be carried out in their designated HIV center.
