Searching for Identity in Time of Plurality of Values

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2018

Abstract

The theme of identity is an increasingly significant phenomenon at a time when it seems that the postmodern tuning period is slowly coming to an end. The foundations of identity have already been laid in ancient Greece.

Only in modern times, considerations of identity have become an important subject of philosophy and, ultimately, of social sciences. The paper is an attempt to answer the question of how the postmodernization has influenced the fact that the extensive search for identity has become signum temporis.

The question is also whether we can expect from the search for identity some meaningful solutions to the questions of human existence and the formation of human personality in education and education or whether we are in direct daily contact with a new illusion.
