The study presents the Wladislaw Hall in the Old Royal Palace at the Prague Castle as a space that gradually changed its function in the 16th century. The hall was originally used for state and representative purposes.
During the 16th century it gradually became a public space. It was often used by buyers who did not prefer luxury goods here.
The author analyzes the process of this transformation based on the archive written sources and the preserved depiction of the Wladislaw Hall by Aegidius Sadeler (1607).
