The publication focuses on the issue of education of pupils with social disadvantage, characterizes the special educational needs of these pupils and describes support measures for work with these pupils, especially at the level of elementary education. Separate chapters are dedicated to children and pupils from socially excluded areas and children from migrant families, special attention is also given to language barriers among Romani pupils.
In the area of support is emphasized the role of the teacher's assistants, as well as the forms of cooperation between the school and external institutions (institute for children's social and legal protection, non-governmental non-profit organizations).
