Abstract
The article interprets one of the renaissance reliefs of the Royal Summer Palace, where a depiction of Ferdinand I could be found. On the scene, the Habsburg ruler becomes a new Meleagros, who brings order to a disorganized empire symbolized by a soldier in antique armor and a trophy - a head of a wild boar.
Gestures of individual characters explain a correct reading of depicted situation.
