This paper offers a hypothesis that Hus operated in the Church of the Bohemian Kingdom which was via facti fully subjected to the secular authority of the Bohemian King, and papal prerogatives and the period canon law were respected to a limited extent only, mostly just theoretically. If the Bohemian King did not interfere in the matter of religious discipline, Bohemian religious institutions were in fact almost helpless even though some of them tried to act against Hus and even were supported by the highest authorities of the European Church.
