2018

Abstract

Introduction: The study gives reader a report on the test development. The presented test teats change management as a set of competencies and attitudes to change.

Test strives to integrate isolated psychological characteristics connected with change enabling to assess the level of actual mindset toward change at work and in a personal life. Its purpose is also to encourage a tested person in the personal development.

Project: The first version of the test with 130 items was assessed qualitative item analysis and a pilot study was conducted on a sample of 176 individuals. Detailed item analysis and principal component analysis were conducted on the collected data.

Results: PCA with VARIMAX rotation (in agreement with psychometric standards) extracted 4 factors based on 44 items that explained 36 % of overall variability. These factors were named: Thinking, Adapting, Knowing, Enjoying.

The internal consistency (Cronbach alpha) of individual scales ranged from 0.82 to 0.84. Limits: The Study presents the first pilot part of the test development.

To verify psychometrics qualities cross-validisation on a new sample and standardization will have to be performed. It is also important to conduct studies that will investigate construct and criterion validity of the test.

Practical impact: The test provides a new point of view on the process of managing change where it treats as a multi-level competency. Test also offers an opportunity fot self-reflection and self-development of experiential and behavioral dimensions of change.

These dimensions have been overlooked by other existing tests.
