IXth international symposium on Czech as a foreign language: A hundred years of development of Czech language and literature in an independent state

Abstract

The symposium provides a meeting of scientific, pedagogical and broad professional public dealing with Czech as a foreign language. It represents a meeting of domestic experts, but above all experts of Bohemia workplaces abroad as well as of other institutions that mediate contact between the Czech Republic and abroad.

The aim of the meeting IX. the symposium is to create a reflection of linguistic and literary development in the historical framework of the centenary existence of an independent Czech state and to allow discussion of the current state of teaching Czech as a foreign language worldwide, to acquaint with new scientific knowledge, to present new teaching materials and electronic applications. The program of the symposium includes: - pre-conference workshops, which introduce new electronic applications for teaching Czech for foreigners; - lectures summarizing the current development of the field in the linguistic, literary, historical and methodological field; - parallel sections presenting current scientific results, methodical procedures , book publications, and electronic applications.

The program of the meeting will be divided into the linguistic, literary-historical and methodological-technological sections. - poster competition section determined by foreign Ph.D. to students of Bohemia where they can present the results of their research so far. The best presentation will be rewarded with a scholarship for the Summer School of Slavonic Studies in Prague in 2019 - cultural events at the end of the symposium (at the invitation of the Nadace of Josef and Zdenka Hlávek) the participants of the symposium will visit the castle in Luzany, where they will meet with Hlávka Foundation's representatives, the tour of the castle, with a personality of Czech cultural life).
