Explicitation of reporting verbs in introductory clauses in translation : asymmetry hypothesis at the light of French-English-Czech parallel corpus

Abstrakt

Asymmetry hypothesis of explicitation/implicitation in translation (Klaudy & Károly, 2005) is based on a quantitative analysis of introductory verbs in an English-Hungarian parallel corpus. The aim of this article is to compare this research with the data based on a large English-French-Czech parallel corpus and with the general corpus linguistics methodology.
