Samurai on His Way to a Real King: Shusaku Endo and his Literary Method

Abstract

This study deals with the specific literary method of the Japanese writer Endo Shusaku in his novel Samurai. His works are firstly put into the context of postwar Japanese literature.

Then it elucidates the theological developement in Endo's works and his literary method. The study culminates by a particular analysis of the novel Samurai.
