Abstrakt
Film clips are the most reliable and widely used stimuli for emotion elicitation. They bring high level of ecological validity, attention capture, and standardization ease into the affective research.
Until now, the recommended film clips were unsuitable for Czech participants because of the language barrier and lack of validation studies. We present the first Czech Emotion Film Database supplying Czech emotion researchers with a large set of validated audiovisual material targeting multiple emotion states and affective dimension combinations.
Relevant papers and databases (such as Hewig et al., 2005; Rottenberg, Ray, & Gross, 2007; Schaefer, Nils, Sanchez, & Philippot, 2010) were searched for audiovisual stimuli commonly used as emotion elicitors. Dubbed versions were found for language dependent films coming predominantly from English and French speaking movies.
Combination of qualitative and quantitative methods were used to access the range, uniqueness and intensity of participants' feelings during and after film presentation. Additionally, seven physiological markers of autonomic activity (heart rate, blood pressure, heart rate variability, skin temperature, respiration rate, skin conductance level and skin conductance response rate) were measured during watching the stimuli.
The Database presently contains 92 film clips. The present poster will highlight some of the film clips and their subjective and physiological correlates.
