"We are not like them": Constructing the others in times of transition in Czech(oslovak)ia and (East) Germany

Abstrakt

The lecture presents the ways in which collective identities have been expressed in (East) Germany and Czechoslovakia or, later on, the Czech Republic. Therefore, the comparative matrix includes two centreal European countries and two different times - 1989 and 2015.

The Deictic Perspective is explained as a methodological tool for societal comparissons made accross times and spaces.
