Free Share Professional Articles - SCI-HUB Piracy or Trend?

Abstract

Information technology is fundamentally changing the way we publish professional communications and publishing business models. The share of open-source magazines is expanding sharply.

At the same time, communities are being formed whose members exchange their published articles with each other and circumvent paid journalistic approaches. Pirate communities are also emerging, which fundamentally undermine the copyrights of publishers - such as Sci-Hub, but it is difficult to avoid this without the contribution of state-guaranteed hard restrictions.

Thus, a similar situation arises in the scientific community, as in the past with pirated copying of songs and films. The solution in the future will not be a tough restriction, but a change in publishing business policy.
