Abstract
Good relationships with close people are important signs of acceptable social adaptability that is lacking in the lives of many young homeless people. Common parts of their life history are negative childhood experiences and problematic relations with the closest persons, especially parents.
Despite this, an improvement may be observed often during the young adulthood, in cases where the conflicts started in adolescence. Troublesome partner relationships of young homeless people are accompanied by poor care for their own children.
The cause lies in the adverse childhood experiences and also in personality changes induced by substance abuse. Improvement and stabilization of interpersonal relationships are associated with resocialisation and leaving the living on the street.
