Abstract
The article deals with the legal institute of amnesty. The article uses the legal-historical comparison and follows developmental trends of legal regulation of amnesty from 1918 until today in the territory of the Czech lands.
At the end it proposes changes of the content of amnesties, or changes in competency de lege ferenda, based on the findings of the legal-historical comparsion.
