The present case study follows the search for parental identity in the context of majority perception of difference in the environment of the communist society. The work is based on research conducted in 2011 - 2012 at 24 families with offspring with mental disability by the oral method.
Then in 2018 was the longitudinal character of the research survey applied. Through a recorded conversation with one participant, with his memories on the time of totalitarianism, the contribution aims to answer what was the real life of the concerned father and his daughter with the mental disability in socialist Czechoslovakia.
