Abstract

Nearly 2,000 scholars from across 50 countries gathered in Prague for the 10th General Conference of the European Consortium for Political Research. This milestone was marked with the largest attendance at an ECPR event, second only to the 2011 Conference in Reykjavik.

The 2016 General Conference featured 67 Sections, 468 Panels and more than 2,000 Papers. The varied programme includes Roundtables, Receptions, Featured Panels, and a Plenary lecture by acclaimed sociologist Rogers Brubaker on the subject of Religious Dimensions of Political Conflict and Violence.

Charles University hosted the event - undoubtedly the largest gathering of political science scholars in Europe - and the Institute of Political Studies organized also two Roundtables chaired by its members (Still Post-Communist? Central Europe a Quarter of a Century after the First Free Elections; Under Pressure: International Institutions and the Global Power Shifts).
