Abstract

In North African Mesolithic cultural circle, ostrich eggshell beads are virtually omnipresent category of artefacts. In this contribution, manufacturing process of ostrich eggshell beads is addressed, based on analysis of massive finds in archaeological contexts of Central Sudan (6th Nile cataract) and on recent ethnographical materials from South Africa.
