Czechoslovak Television as a Propaganda Factory

Publication at Faculty of Social Sciences |
2018

Abstract

The paper focuses on the propaganda role of Czechoslovak Television as one of the main ideological tools of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and a significant part of the media bloc of socialist countries, led by the Soviet Union, who considered television one of the mass means of information and propaganda. The comparison of Czechoslovak Television to the propaganda factory may seem disproportionate, but the fact is that it produced and broadcast daily the content that the Czechoslovak society influenced to support the Communist regime and the current KSČ policy.
