Abstract

More then one billion of people in the Earth suffers lack of drinking water. Total amount of water on our planet equals to 1 360 000 000 cubic kilometers.

Only 0.3 % of that amount occupies surface sweet water, that is rivers, wetlands and lakes. It is reckoned, that in 2025 half of the world population will be facing the problem of drinking water supply.

Czech republic has relatively low underground water stores, moreover, majority of water flows from our territory away. Even in our country more serious problems with water supply could be expected, also due to increased climatic temperature.
