Abstract
The objective of the book is the exploration of a diversity of conditions of fieldwork in non-European locations. Ludmila Škrabákova had conducted fieldwork in Amazonia.
She describes her numerous fieldtrips in Amazonia and how she gradually developed her findings. She pays attention to many aspects ofresearcher's life in the Amazonian jungle.
She shows not only the hazards hidden in the jungle to a reader, but she also describes the character of the dealings with the natives and what it means to loose a laptop when the researcher did not do a backup of the data stored in the laptop.
