The text focuses on issue of anthropophagy as an almost universal cultural construct which can be found across all the world cultures. Specifically, it focuses on imaginary man-eating beings in international folklore and mythology.
The objective of this work is comprehensive classification of anthropophagic beings according to their type. Based on this classification, it is possible to track occurrences of anthropophagy in contemporary folk narratives documented in current oral transmission and compare it with international parallels.
