Abstract

There is a very little known about the terrestrial bugs (Heteroptera) fauna of the Podblanicko region (south part of the Central Bohemia, Czech Republic). Scattered literature records are reviewed and the history of research in the area is discussed.

Results of investigations focused on the family Pentatomidae are summarized in this paper. All evaluated material mostly comes from extensive field surveys undertaken in 1991-2016.

The shield bugs were mostly collected by sweep net from the native vegetation (herbaceous plants, shrubs, trees), there were only once collected using a light trap in municipal garden in Vlašim. In total 20 species of the shield bugs belonging to 17 genera were found during the fieldwork.

Twenty-first species and the eighteenth genus was registered in the past here and now it is classified as extinct.
