The bachelor thesis deals with the effect of therapy in the multisensory room Snoezelen in the treatment of a subgroup of patients with anorexia nervosa, where significant cognitive impairment also occurs due to significant underweight and malnutrition, reduced ability to solve problems, distort interests and attention, memory impairment and emotional flattening - some of which may be renewed. This work examines the effect of the Snoezelen-MSE concept on the healing of these patients.
Its aim is to find out how the patients themselves perceive the effect of the therapy in a Snoezelen-MSE room, which was included in the program of the specialized eating disorders center in 2017, as a modern method for the development of brain neuroplasticity. The research method is a semi-structured interview with patients at a specialized department for eating disorders suffering from anorexia nervosa with a BMI of less than 16.
The investigation took place from June 2018 to February 2019. The results of the bachelor thesis can contribute to the improvement of care for patients with anorexia nervosa.
If a positive effect on the development of the cognition of the patients is found, the work may be the basis To Create Therapeutic Procedures And New Standards To Work In The Snoezelen-MSE Multisensory Room Adapted To This Subgroup Of Patients To Be Most As the potential of the treatment method
