Abstract

In most cases, peripheral vascular disease of lower extremities is caused by atherosclerosis process, which is entailed with many risks factors (especially smoking, diabetes, hypertension). It is necessary to reflect the newest trends based on the new research and recommendations in vascular surgery, where the treatment of patients with peripheral vascular disease is innovative.

The provision of nursing care is not only based on dealing with already emerged disease, but it has to be focused mainly on providing the education of the public and raising the awareness. The informative leaflet was created, based on the research of literature and according to professional experience with vascular surgery.

It is recommended for the public, where it could raise the awareness of the patients with risk factors for an onset of the disease.
