The study focuses on Czech and Slovak travelogues from the 1840s (Jan Helcelet, Vilem Dusan Lambl, Vaclav Stanek, Frantisek Ladislav Rieger and Gaspar Fejérpataky-Belopotocky). The analysis of communication schemes draws attention to the social network between the Czech and Slovak patriotic society, which was divided by the dispute between Štúr and Kollár.
Travelogues are a testament to the rich patriotic life of Czech and Slovak society, which in the given period, on the background of the language question, solved the key problem of further cultural direction.
