Abstract

The paper deals with the role and powers of the first Czechoslovak president, Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, as laid down in the Provisional Constitution and its Amendment of 1919 and the Constitutional Charter of 1920. The paper deals not only with the analysis of the text of the legislation itself but also emphasises the circumstances of their formation in the Constitutional Committee of the Revolutionary National Assembly.
