Abstract

The conference held under the auspices of the Department of Historical Sociology at the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University had a dual goal. On the one hand, it was supposed to provide the current PhD students and students at the Department with an opportunity to make a presentation at a conference at home field and to gain the necessary experience for further scientific work.

Furthermore, the conference was supposed to attract enough foreign active participants who, by their presence, would not only increase the prestige of the conferences and department itself, but could also subsequently raise awareness of the department at their universities. The conference was divided into several thematic blocks and those were followed by a discussion at the end.
