Abstract
The collective monograph recalls the adoption of the new Czech Criminal Code from 2009 (Act No. 40/2009 Coll.). The authors consider the extent to which continuity with previous legal developments is applied in the new Criminal Code, they deal with the notion of criminal law as the ultima ratio, selected institutes of sanctioning and comparison with Slovak legislation.
They also point out what the new Penal Code might contain, but does not include and they propose changes de lege ferenda.
