Abstract
Engaging students and persuading them to drop their smartphone or close the Facebook is a challenge for anyone who regularly stands in front of a larger or smaller group of college students to tell them something important, to teach them something new. The lecture will show listeners how to do it efficiently, what is needed to get learners into the process of relying on new media and when it is better to take a marker and start writing on the white board.
It will offer practical tools that can be involved in the preparation of lessons and the actual realization of lessons, try to critically answer questions why we sometimes fail and how to innovate our teaching style. Finally, the presentation software and its limits will not be left behind.
