The study deals with the phenomenon of education in the era of digitization and globalization. It summarizes the need for new requirements for lifelong education and learning in the context of the rapid changes in the new era.
It explaines the need for building a high-quality knowledge base and key competences of an individual in initial education and the need for continuity of professional, civic and interest education and the promotion of adaptation and motivation to changes in further education. It is inspired by the current education concepts in the Czech Republic and abroad, and describes the Education 4.0 paradigm which brings a new functional model of lifelong personalized education and learning.
