Abstract

In this chapter, the author describes a therapeutic intervention technique developed in a closed men's forensic ward in a public psychiatric hospital in Prague, Czech Republic. The target group included patients diagnosed with schizophrenia, some with concomitant substance use disorder.

The intervention technique was developed by the head psychiatrist and the psychologist, in an attempt to better adapt therapeutic efforts to patients' individualized and holistic needs and to promote recovery.
