The article Hassidic niggun as a communicative medium deal with Hasidic music and its role in the spiritual and mystical practise of Hasidic Jews. In the centre of attention is the niggun - specific musical form created by Hasidic Jews - especially as a way of communication.
A suggested typology of Hasidic niggun is also part of this article. The given problematic is illustrated on four examples of musical traditions of Hasidic community whose musical activity is significant for the Hasidic tradition (HaBaD, Modzhits, Karlin, and Bratslav).
