Role of resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) to save life in bleeding in a patient with a pelvic ring injury

Abstract

The author presents a case study of the use of resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion (REBOA) as a suitable alternative to thoracotomy and clamping of the descending aorta to control retroperitoneal bleeding in a patient with a pelvic injury.
