Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is a rare disease characterized by recurrent attacks of swelling, which differ from edema of allergic origin and require different therapeutic approach. Early diagnosis and availability of targeted treatment improve quality of patients' life and enable them successfully manage life-threatening laryngeal attacks.
Management of HAE patients is in the Czech Republic concentrated in four centers within imunology departments of Faculty hospital in Pisen, Prague, Hradec Králové and Brno.
