Abstract
Urticaria is characterized by sudden appearance of wheals and/or angioedema. Urticaria is classified based on its duration as acute (less than 6 weeks) and chronic (more than 6 weeks).
Chronic spontaneous urticaria causes a decrease in quality of life. The aim of this article is to provide an updated definition and classification of urticaria.
