Courtship is a process consisting of many steps which are determined by their function and lead to further progress. Specific flirting behaviour forms part of courtship and it's most commonly defined as behaviour that increases the likelihood of promoting attention and interest from a sexual target.
People may engage in flirting interactions for various reasons; such as involving themselves in long-term/short-term relationship, entertainment etc. Some studies suggests that specific flirt behaviour can change depending on the person's intent for long term or short term relationship.
The aim of this study was to examine different courtship strategies in heterosexual men depending on the desired level of commitment and to identify various reasons why heterosexual men flirt.
