Research and Development of Physics Curriculum : First Outcomes from Interviews with Physicists

Publication at Faculty of Mathematics and Physics |
2019

Abstract

This contribution is a summary of the research which is focused on a development of a new physics curriculum for the secondary schools. The two years long literature research in the international databases Web of Science and Scopus revealed the absence of publications which transparently declare methods of physics curriculum development.

Because of this the work group at Department of Physics Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, is working on a transparent methodology of curriculum development. Main characteristic of the created methodology is qualitative research through interviews with physicists.

The findings are going to be obtained through grounded theory methodology. First interviews are already done so we can present first outcomes.

The obtained interview finding are going to be revised by a questionnaire survey among other players relevant to the physics curriculum for secondary schools.
