Abstract
The case report presents a newborn from monitored pregnancy due to the fetal intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) from week 24. Labour occurred at 37 weeks of gestational age.
The newborn girl was completely examined due to IUGR, signs of facial dysmorphism, feeding difficulties and postnatal growth retardation. Molecular genetic testing proved the diagnosis of Silver-Russell syndrome at the age of 7 months and growth hormone therapy was early initiated.
The therapeutic effect is favourable, it caused the anabolic effect, improved food intake and growth catch up.
