Home-based functional evaluation of upper extremity stroke survival after 6 - months discharge from high intensity neurorehabilitation program at Rahabilitation centre Kladruby

Abstract

The aim of the work was to evaluate a cur rent condition upper extremity (UE) of stroke survivals (N = 15) after 6-months discharge from high intensity neurorehabilitation program at Rehabilitation Centre Kladruby, who underwent video-observation ther apy combine with robot as sistive ther apy to improve hand function.. All stroke patients were screened for eligibility.

Inclusion criterion were moderate to severe hand movements impairment equivalent to a score 2 or 3 of a pos sible 6 points on the Motor As sessment Scale (MAS) items 7, able to fol low com mands, either with verbal instructions, demonstration or other non-verbal cues. Fifteen patients were screened at a time T0 (admis sion), T1 (after 1 month) and T2 (after 6 months post discharge in home environment).

Dur ing Home-based functional evaluation of UE at a time T2 was taken dataset as well about access to local and com munity rehabilitation care. Data showed up none to minimum access for psychology and speech language pathology care.

Occupational ther apy was acces sible for 27% stroke survivals and conventional physiother apy and physical ther apy for 91% stroke survivals.
